Dyke House Academy Year 7 student, Hannah Swift, unfortunately broke her ankle before Christmas in 2018, but rather than sit around being bored, she decided to use her time productively whilst recuperating, by making and selling Christmas decorations to friends and family.

She raised £50, and donated this to Alice House Hospice in Hartlepool, who work to ensure people affected by a life limiting illness or the death of a loved one have the care, comfort and support they need. As the only adult Hospice in the Hartlepool and East Durham areas, their unique range of services make a vital difference to the lives of thousands of families each year. The Hospice were very grateful for Hannah’s efforts, and wished her all the best with her recovery.

    Well done Hannah!
