Salary: £24,373 – £40,490 (FTE, Salary to be pro rata)
Contract: Permanent

Northern Education Trust Thorp Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of English to start in September 2020.

The successful candidate must be an excellent classroom practitioner with the ability to inspire pupils and encourage a passion for learning. Thorp is a mixed, 11-18 academy recently graded as Good in all areas at its latest Ofsted inspection and is currently experiencing an increase in student numbers.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Build positive relationships with all children, staff and parents.
  • Demonstrate a range of behaviour management strategies and high expectations.
  • Show good classroom practice and be committed to developing children as independent learners and thinkers.
  • Promote learning based on using good subject knowledge.
  • Contribute to the drive for high expectations of achievement, attainment and behaviour across the Academy.
